Bertschinger Extended as U19 Women’s Coach

Floorball New Zealand is pleased to announce the extension of Jane Bertschinger as head coach of the women’s U19 national team for a further two years. After a historically successful 2022 campaign which saw the team reach a record 12th place, Jane comes to the position with new energy and a development vision for the lead up to the next world championship campaign where she aims to continue the team’s recent successes.

Jane is a veteran coach, former women’s national team captain, and until recently a member of the Floorball New Zealand committee. Needless to say she lives and breathes floorball, and has a passion for the game that she will pass on to the next generation of floorballers.

In the lead up to the next tournament Jane will be supported by an experienced team including former U19 men’s coach Christian Bertschinger and women’s national team goalie Maria Heagarty. An exciting addition to her team is Kim Uddvi, who previously coached alongside Jane in the 2018 campaign. Kim comes to the position with extensive and invaluable experience including 13 years as a player in the Swedish Super League, the best floorball league in the world.

Floorball New Zealand looks forward to seeing our finest young female floorballers continue to develop under Jane’s guidance.
