Seeking Players for the NZ Men's Team
The New Zealand Men’s Floorball National team played in the World Floorball Championships Qualification in 2014 and 2016 and is currently ranked 26th in the World. Floorball New Zealand is calling for nominations from New Zealand floorball players to be part of New Zealand Men’s National Team for the Men‘s 12th WFC Qualifications AOFC in South Korea in January 2018. Floorball New Zealand has recently appointed Pavol Nekl as the head coach for the NZ Men’s National Team. Pavol is based in Christchurch and it is planned to have the majority of team trainings in Wellington.

NZ Men’s Head Coach for the 2018 World Floorball Championships
Floorball NZ is please to announce that Pavol Nekl has been appointed as the National Coach for the NZ Men's team. Floorball is important part of Pavol's life for more than 16 years. He will bring a wealth of experience that has included playing in the 2nd and 3rd National leagues in the Czech Republic and competed against the top teams from the highest league in the National Cup. Pavol is the holder of coach licence C issued in Czech Republic and has been coaching Men and junior team FBC Prerov, his hometown. Pavol came to New Zealand in 2014 and after six months without floorball started to play in the local club in Christchurch. From then he was part of the team that became the Champions of New Zealand in 2014, 2015 and 2nd in 2016. In teh last 3 years he has been chosen as an all star team member in Wellington Floorball Open.
We look forward to Pavol coaching the National Mens team in a successful campaign over the coming year.

The next qualification tournament will be held in September 2018 and Floorball NZ will be looking at entering a team into that event. It is not yet known where that tournament will be held and what other countriesfrom the Asia-Oceania region will compete in it.Should the New Zealand team qualify, they would travel to the World Floorball Championship Finals held in Canada (Halifax) from 1 to 5 May 2019.

The manager will work closely with the head coach who will lead, train and coach the team from April this year until the QualificationTournament in 2018 and in case of Qualification, also to the World Cup Finals in December 2018. The team manager will support the head coach with administration, organisation and team management.

Jane Bertschinger has been appointed Head Coach of the NZ Women’s Under 19 Floorball Team for the 2018 WU19 World Floorball Championships campaign. Jane has a wealth of knowledge and experience as a player, captain, referee, coach and manager in the floorball world and it’s great to have her on board to help lead the charge for our up and coming female floorballers.
