Floorball New Zealand (FBNZ) wishes the best of luck to the New Zealand U19 Girls Team who are heading to Herisau, Switzerland, to play for the 2018 World Cup. The team has been training hard over the last few months and are ready to take on Canada, Hungry and Russia who are the other teams that make up “Group D”. Head coach Jane Bertschinger has highlighted the excitement and the experience to be gained amongst the team. “This is an exciting opportunity that promises to be a highlight for each and every player, we are looking forward to experience the Northern Hemisphere style of floorball and are working hard and setting our goals high.” she said.

The Girls U19 team is the first NZ Team to play in a World Cup and signals another milestone in the short history of Floorball in NZ. The President of FBNZ Ole Pedersen said of our inaugural team in a world cup "Having our young U19 girls going to Herisau in Switzerland to play in the World Cup finals is a great milestone for Floorball in New Zealand as well as in the wider South Pacific region. While they will be playing against some strong teams in their group, including Russia and Hungary as well as Canada, the experience the young girls will gain is invaluable to Floorball in New Zealand. Their participation in Switzerland again put New Zealand on the sporting map around the world and will only help grow the interest in Floorball back here."

The games will be played between the 2nd May and 7th May 2018 with full details published on the IFF web site and the official event web site.   All games will be streamed via the International Floorball Federation (IFF) YouTube Channel or followed on the IFF App.

Congratulations to following girls who make the squad. Go hard and enjoy!
